Why did you decide to become an attorney?
I wanted a career where I could contribute to society by helping people who needed help.
What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?
I grew up in a local steel mill town where I learned to connect with people from all walks of life; to understand people's hopes, fears, goals and passions. I have also learned something from every case I have handled over my career which has made me a better lawyer.
What made you choose your primary area of law?
While employed in a law firm that specialized in insurance defense litigation, I found the medical malpractice cases to be most compeling and I realized that my personal ideology favored the injured patients, so I left the law firm and began representing patients in medical malpractice cases.
What makes your law firm unique?
All of the attorneys and support staff are aware of every single client's case. We all treat every case with an awareness that it is each client's only case and we are very aware of how much that case means to them.
Describe your ideal client.
There is no "ideal" client in my pracice. Each client or their loved one has sustained a preventable loss for which their recovery represents something very personal to them or their family .
